If you’ve ever inquired about a maternity photoshoot here in Connecticut with me you’ve probably noticed that maternity sessions are kind of my obsession. Yes, I photograph newborns, babies and families on occasion, but maternity photography here in New England really have my heart. I really, truly believe that all moms deserve gorgeous maternity portraits. Pregnancy can be a vulnerable time as your body changes and grows. Some moms really feel that maternal glow, while others like me, just don’t. When I went to take my own maternity photos I made my very first gown purchases from Sew Trendy Accessories. 60+ dresses later I have a maternity client closet fully stocked here in Connecticut with all the colors of the rainbow and fitting clients from XS-2X+. I truly feel accomplished after a gown fitting when a client mom-to-be has a tough time deciding because they love so many gowns.
When this gorgeous mom here first contacted me I had no idea she had already contacted other photographers closer to her home in NY to document her pregnancy milestone. It truly broke my heart to learn she had been turned away by them simply because their wardrobe only contained ‘average’ size maternity wear. When we first connected I had been actively trying to add more plus sized options to my client closet and was thrilled to work with her on not only her dream maternity portraits but also to choose her dream gowns. Since her session I’ve added even more plus sized options to my closet, met with more plus sized moms and experienced the joy of seeing a mom who wasn’t sure anything would fit right find more than one gown that she loved. I look forward to meeting many more moms of all sizes here as a Connecticut maternity photographer and working with them to create the maternity session they’ve dreamed of.
